Need More Information?
HOW DO I BOOK A TOUR?
Booking can be done by e-mail, phone, or by submitting an information request on the Contact page. We will get back to you within 24 hours, answer any questions, and begin the booking process. We can be contacted at any time before or during the tour.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Yes, we accept personal checks or credit card payments.
DOES THE TOUR PRICE INCLUDE ALL ENTRANCE FEES?
Yes. The tour price includes entrance fees into all attractions on the tour. Optional tours are the individual traveler’s responsibility.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK?
Our tours have been filling up quickly, so we suggest that you book 3-6 months in advance.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO GO ON THE TOUR?
Our tours are offered during the best months of the year – warmer weather, no rain. July and August tend to be very hot, so please take that into consideration. The mildest weather is April, May, September and early October.
- CAN WE EXTEND THE TOUR BEYOND FIVE DAYS?
For groups of four or more we can customize tours for longer periods, adding additional sights and activities. Just contact us to discuss this option.
CAN WE COME A DAY OR TWO EARLIER AND/OR STAY A DAY OR TWO LATER?
Yes. All tours can be customized to add additional accommodation days before or after the tour. Just let us know what you’d like your schedule to be, and we can make the appropriate changes. We can also help you with pre- and post-tour options.
ARE THE VESPAS EASY TO DRIVE?
Yes, they are easy to drive for most people. There are no gears on the Vespa and the brakes are on the handle bars, like a bicycle. Previous experience on a scooter or motorbike is advantageous and highly advised, but not necessary. If you cannot ride a bicycle we do not advise you try and ride a scooter for the first time on this tour. Although our Vespas are easy to drive, a good sense of balance and coordination is required. It is not required that you drive the Vespa (see #3 below).
WILL WE GET INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO RIDE THE VESPA?
On our first evening, Roberto or Max (owners of Rent Scooter Roma), will give instructions on the scooters we will be driving, and we’ll take a short trek as a group. If at any time someone does not feel comfortable driving, they will have the option of riding on the back with an experienced driver.
IS THERE AN OPTION FOR THOSE THAT DON’T WANT TO DRIVE THE VESPA THEMSELVES?
For those who do not feel comfortable driving a Vespa, or who just want to sit back and enjoy the view, drivers are available to escort you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT?
We do not anticipate any accidents, but sometimes these things happen. Rent Scooter Roma does hundreds of tours a year, and are completely equipped to handle any accident. They are required to carry extensive insurance.
WHICH OF ROME’S AIRPORTS IS CLOSEST TO OUR ACCOMMODATIONS?
Both Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) and Ciampino Airport (CIA) are approximately 30 minutes from our accommodations. Our private car can pick up travelers from either airport.
WHAT IS THE VATICAN DRESS CODE?
The Vatican dress code is quite strict, requesting no skirts above the knee, no shorts, no bare shoulders (i.e., tank tops or sleeveless blouses). Knees and shoulders must be covered. You can take a silk scarf or something to cover your shoulders/legs while in St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel then take it off again when you come out.
